KUCHING, Nov 15: Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi has donated one month’s worth of his ministerial salary to the ‘Humanitarian Trust Fund for the People of Palestine’.

Nanta expressed hope that the donation could alleviate the burden faced by the Palestinian people, who have been severely affected by the war.

“The Ministry of Works (KKR), like many Malaysians, shares a deep sense of sadness regarding the tragedy that has affected the Palestinian people.

“Today, I along with the people of KKR have handed over the proceeds collected by this ministry and the private sector to the Humanitarian Trust Fund for the People of Palestine amounting to RM454,140,” Nanta wrote in a post on his official Facebook page today.

He also explained that the fund is an initiative of the government through the Public Service Department (JPA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (KLN).

“Hopefully, this small donation will alleviate some of the burden on the Palestinian people, who are suffering greatly as a result of the country’s ongoing war,” Nanta remarked. — DayakDaily
