Workers at eatery and entertainment outlet in Miri form new Jalan Haji Lampam Cluster, 22 infected

KUCHING, June 1: Workers at an eatery and entertainment premises in Miri formed a new Covid-19 cluster known as the Jalan Haji Lampam Cluster infecting 22 people.

According to reports from Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the Jalan Haji Lampam Cluster is a workplace cluster with a total of 121 individuals related to the cluster tested for Covid-19 so far.


Out of that number, 22 cases have been confirmed including the index case.

There were 96 people which tested negative while three cases are awaiting Covid-19 swab test results.

SDMC said all the positive cases have been referred to Miri Hospital and admitted to quarantine and low-risk treatment centres in Miri for isolation and treatment.

Meanwhile, the committee disclosed three Covid-19 clusters have ended.

They are the Pondok Cluster in Belaga, Jalan Sebauh-Bintulu Cluster in Sebauh and Batu 25 Cluster in Bintulu.

With this, there are 80 clusters still active in Sarawak.
