KUCHING, March 24: Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi expressed delight after attending the Hygiene, Safety and Health Awareness Programme held at Rh Kanyan Anak Banta in Sungai Lajan, Song today.

Nanta, who is Kapit Member of Parliament (MP), in a statement today likenednthe experiences to a big family gathering when ever he is back to his constituency.

He said the programme, which is organised by Kapit District Council together with several government agencies, is an effort to raise awareness of several issues related to hygiene, safety and health.

“It is to provide exposure and early education especially for the children here.

“Among the interesting activities held throughout the two days of this programme are a fire-fighting demonstration by the Song Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) and a free health check-up by the Song Health Clinic. This programme has benefited 47 families living here,” he said.
