KUCHING, July 11: A 43-year-old woman sustained burns on her hands when she rushed back into her blazing house at Kampung Mambong in Siburan here to retrieve some belongings.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak swiftly responded to a distress call received at 6.15am today and promptly despatched a team from the Siburan fire station to the site.
The fire ravaged the entire house. However, all the occupants including a 42-year-old man and 14-year-old teenager managed to escape unharmed.
The injured woman was immediately transported to the Rajah Charles Brooke Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.
Firefighters contained the fire and performed thorough checks to ensure there were no remaining sources of ignition before returning to the station. — DayakDaily
