KUCHING, June 4: A woman died in an accident involving two vehicles at Batu 9 Jalan Kuching-Serian last night.
A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak said they received a report regarding the accident at 10.18pm.
He said members from the Siburan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were deployed to the accident scene.
“On arrival at the scene, it was found that there was an accident involving a Toyota Hilux pickup with a Yamaha LC135 motorcycle.
“There were two victims involved who were riding the motorcycle during the incident, and one of them was rushed to the hospital using an ambulance from the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) before the arrival of the fire brigade,” he said in a statement today.
He added that there was another female victim still trapped under the pickup.
“The victim was removed from under the pickup by the fire department and was then handed over to MOH for treatment, but she was pronounced dead at the scene,” he said.
The victim’s body was handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
