MIRI, May 4: A female pedestrian died shortly after being knocked by a vehicle at about 4.45am, here, today.
According to state Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, the tragedy happened when the woman, in her 40s or 50s, was crossing Jalan Kosmos in Taman Pelita Commercial Centre.
Her identity has yet to be ascertained at press time.
After the accident, she was rushed to Miri Hospital but was pronounced dead along the way.
Police urged anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward to help facilitate the investigation, under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
