MIRI, Dec 22: A female shop assistant was injured when an unknown man snatched her luxury brand handbag and fled the scene on a motorcycle with an accomplice on Saturday (Dec 21) morning.
The victim sustained injuries to both knees after a hard fall to the pavement.
According to Miri deputy police chief Supt Sabri Zainol, the incident happened moments after the 22-year-old victim exited from her parked car behind the Centre Point 2 area around 8.30am. She was on her way to have breakfast at one of the eateries there.
“Total loss is estimated to be around RM1,000,” said Sabri when contacted today.
Also stolen during the incident was the victim’s bank card, MyKad and an iPhone X.
A police report over the incident has been lodged.
The case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt while committing a robbery. — DayakDaily
