Woman falls to her death from condominium at Jalan Wan Alwi

KUCHING, May 4: A 56-year-old woman died after she fell from the seventh floor of a condominium at Jalan Wan Alwi, here, today.

The victim was found lying in a pool of blood at the courtyard.

Kuching district police chief ACP Awang Din Awang Gani confirmed the incident.


Police responded to the scene at 7.37am, after they received information from the public that a woman had fallen from the high-rise building. Medical officers from the Sarawak General Hospital were also rushed to the scene.

“Based on the cut injuries from her neck and hands, the initial investigation revealed that the woman had injured herself before falling off the building.

“The victim’s elder sister also told the police that the deceased enjoyed travelling especially during the holidays. However, due to the current situation, she was unable to go anywhere and was believed to be depressed,” Awang Din said in a statement.

He added that although there are no criminal elements at the incident, police are investigating the case that has been classified as sudden death (SDR). — DayakDaily
