Woman dies in Sibu hotel’s fatal jump

SIBU, Jan 8: A mother of four died after she was believed to have jumped off from the sixth floor of a hotel at Jalan Pahlawan here last night.

Sibu district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the deceased has been identified as Kong Mei Ying of Jalan Oya who succumbed from broken hands and serious head injury.

He said according to the woman’s husband, earlier in the afternoon she told him that she was going out to meet a friend.

“At about 8pm, she called him up, telling him that she will be home soon. Soon after that she called him again. This time she told him to fetch her from the hotel at 9pm.

“When he arrived at the hotel half hour later, he saw a lot of policemen at the scene. He was shocked upon seeing his wife lying dead on the ground at the car parking area of the hotel,” he said.

Stanley added that the woman had checked into the hotel a day earlier. — DayakDaily
