Woman claims trial for damaging car belonging to former Padungan rep Wong King Wei

KUCHING, March 28: A woman has pleaded not guilty to a charge of damaging a luxury car belonging to former Padungan assemblyman Wong King Wei, causing losses of about RM13,264.40.

Khiew Sin Kian, 40, pleaded not guilty to the charge framed under Section 427 of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term between one year and five years or a fine, or both, upon conviction.


Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali released Khiew on a bail of RM2,000 and one local surety. The case is fixed for case management on May 9, 2023.

Khiew was found causing damage to the luxury car belonging to Wong by using a wooden stick, at a house in Jalan Semeba at about 12.50am on Feb 17, 2023.

It is understood that the accused and Wong knew each other and there was some misunderstanding between the two of them prior to the incident.

Prosecuting Officer Inspector Mohd Adzmei Ahmad prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented by counsel. — DayakDaily
