KUCHING, March 28: The Republic of Croatia is interested in working with Sarawak in the green economy, hydrogen, and renewable energy sectors.

According to the Republic of Croatia ambassador to Malaysia, Dr Ivan Velimir Starcevic, this region has various potentials focused on economic resources.

“Croatia is trying to follow Sarawak’s steps in that direction, and now, we are looking for new partners in this field.

“So, our discussions today will continue in Kuching until tomorrow evening before further discussions are held in Bintulu afterwards,” he said in a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas).

He said this after paying a courtesy call to Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today.

Starcevic added that Croatia would also focus on the potential of the tourism sector owned by the state in addition to restoring good relations between the republic and Malaysia.

“The relationship between Malaysia and Croatia was very good once upon a time. Therefore, we are trying to return it to the way it was or to a better level,” he said.
