KUCHING, July 27: This year, those who attend the Kuching Festival Food Fair (KFF) will be eligible to win motorcycles worth a total of RM22,070 in the first-ever lucky draw organised by the Kuching South City Council (MBKS).

He stated that in order to enter the lucky draw, the public must first register at https://kuchingfestivals.com/, and once registered, a barcode will be automatically provided, which the public must scan each time they enter the fair.

The mayor clarified that the barcode can only be scanned once per day.

Meanwhile, Magnum 4D, the main sponsor of the upcoming KFF 2022, handed their donation of RM40,000 to Wee today at the committee room of MBKS Headquarters here.

“For nearly 30 years, Magnum 4D has sponsored the KFF. I’d like to thank them for their ongoing support for the KFF, particularly the KFF 2022, which has greatly assisted in defraying some of the costs,” Wee said.

He noted that KFF 2022, themed ‘Kuching’s Best Creative Food and Culture’, will be held from July 29 to Aug 21, with a total of 323 food operators participating.

“The stalls also include the gastronomy stall and eight associations that will be joining this KFF 2022 in promoting ‘Chinese Home Cook Delicacies’, namely Kuching Hainan Association, Kwong Wai Siew Association, Teochew Association, Sarawak Chawan Association, Hin Ann Association, Kuching Foochow Association, Hokkien Association, and Sarawak Hakka Community Association,” he disclosed.

“For the Trade Fair, there would be 90 stalls/operators located within the Dewan Masyarakat MBKS.

“The stalls will feature a wide range of high-tech products, machines, health and fitness equipment, telecommunications equipment, furniture, high-quality household items, clothing, and accessories, among other things,” he explained.

Wee remarked that there will be a small fun fair, kiddie rides, and health screenings at the fair.

“The Council wishes to inform the public that the official opening of the fair will take place at the MBKS Theatre on Tuesday, Aug 2 at 8pm.

“Sarawak Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian has been invited to officiate the opening, and Dr Sim will be accompanied by myself, local dignitaries, and other invited guests to tour the fair following the opening.

“In addition, fireworks will be launched near the MBKS Jubilee Ground at approximately 9am to commemorate the official opening of the KFF 2022,” he revealed.

Furthermore, Wee highlighted that a wide range of entertainment events will be held at the MBKS Theatre every night.

He added that the KFF 2022 programme includes the Kuching Festival Esports Challenge (Seminar/MLBB Offline Tournament) from July 30 to 31, the Kuching City Day Commemoration on Aug 6, the Kuching Festival Esports Challenge (Tekken Offline Tournament) on Aug 7, Kuching’s Got Talent (Semi-Final) on Aug 13 & Finale on Aug 14, Charity Night on Aug 18, the 1st Malaysia Hakka Lion Dance Competition on from Aug 19 to 20, and the Mayor’s Walk on Aug 21.
