KUCHING, Nov 28: St Paul’s Church in Bunuk has launched a raffle ticket fundraising drive to support the construction of its new church building, following a detailed update from the New Church Building Committee Chairman, John Rizal Biki, on the project’s progress and the raffle ticket initiative.
In a press release issued today, John invited everyone to take part in the raffle—describing it as a simple, joyful way to support the creation of a safe, beautiful space for worship, learning, youth fellowship and community ministry.
“Whether parishioner or friend in the wider community—every contribution matters, and together we can build something lasting for all,” said the press release.
Following the project progress briefing, the raffle fund drive was formally launched by the Right Reverend Datuk Danald Jute. Bishop of the Anglican Church in Sarawak and Brunei, in the presence of church leadership and community representatives.
Attendees included church Vicar Johnny Lebar, church committee chairman Henry Senok, and representatives from the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor), alongside supportive parishioners and community members.
Raffle tickets are priced at RM10 per ticket or RM50 per booklet, with all proceeds going directly into the New Church Building Fund.
The draw is scheduled for August 30, 2026, at 7.30pm, at Dewan Serbaguna Kampung Bratan/Asah, Batu 16, Jalan Puncak Borneo, Kuching.
“The raffle gives you the chance to win a grand prize of a brand new Perodua Bezza 1.0 G Automatic, special prizes worth RM 2,000 each, and a series of consolation prizes including holiday packages, hotel stays, travel packages, and health screening vouchers.”
St Paul’s Church also called on parishioners, congregants, and the wider community to support this initiative by purchasing raffle tickets.
