MIRI, Sept 30: In less than 48 hours after the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) initiated a fundraising campaign to help fund three year-old Rebecca Rayam Robson’s heart surgery, a total RM40,000 was successfully collected as of 1pm today — surpassing their initial target which was RM35,000.

“We have reached our target of raising RM40,000 as at 1pm today, so please do not bank in any more money,” said SUPP Piasau chairman Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew.

He also expressed his gratitude to the generous donors who have chipped in and donated to help fund Rebecca’s surgery.

Rebecca is scheduled for admission to IJN in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 1 for surgical correction for her underlying heart conditions.

“Two days ago on Sept 28, on behalf of the family of Robson Bnedick Grunsin, his wife Ferrina David and their daughter Rebecca, we appealed to our caring, loving and generous Miri people and the people of Sarawak for their kind consideration and thoughts to assist us to raise a sum of between RM35,000 to RM40,000.

“Today, we are pleased to announce and report to our kind donors and well wishers that, as at 1pm today, Sept 30, we successfully collected RM40,000,” Ting disclosed.

“Let us continue to pray for Rebecca, for her smooth operation and speedy recovery thereafter,” he concluded. — DayakDaily
