Wildlife enforcers seize 80kg of suspected monitor lizard meat from local man

KUCHING, Aug 14: Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) enforcement officers seized seven plastic bags containing suspected monitor lizard meat, weighing over 80 kilogrammes, from a local man in Kuching yesterday.

According to a social media post by SFC, the operation followed a month-long intelligence gathering and online reports.

Six SFC enforcement officers, along with three wildlife guardian rangers (WGR), conducted an inspection and discovered that the man was selling the suspected monitor lizard meat without a permit.

A police report has been filed for futher action by SFC.
