KUCHING, Dec 6: A white Mercedes crashed and ended up in a monsoon drain at Jalan Ellis nearly midnight today but no driver or passenger could be located at the scene.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to an emergency call at 11.58pm on Tuesday (Dec 5) and mobilised a team of firefighters from the Padungan Station.
Upon arrival at the location, the firefighters descended into the monsoon drain to examine the vehicle through its shattered windows to check for any signs of trapped persons.
However, no person was found inside the car.
Following a thorough inspection and ensuring the safety and security of the accident site, the Bomba team departed from the scene.
The case has been handed over to the police for further investigation and action. — DayakDaily
