Wee shares experience of MBKS cooperating with public-private sectors in international forum

KUCHING, Sept 15: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng shared the experience of the council cooperating with the public and private sectors in creating a healthy community for the city during the 2021 Virtual Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum Special Edition held in Brisbane, Australia recently.

Wee presented a paper titled ‘Building a Healthy City Through Public-Private Partnership – Kuching South Experience’ during the Deep Dive Session 1.1 Healthy Cities during the forum.

He believed that people will be able to gain new ideas and learn from other developing cities through the forum.

Meanwhile, MBKS in a statement said more than 90 high profile speakers worldwide attended the summit including representatives from cities such as Auckland, Bangkok, Baltimore, London, Singapore, Shanghai, Tokyo and Ulaanbaatar.

The council added the summit featured four programme sub-themes namely healthy cities, vibrant cities, connected cities and intelligent cities. — DayakDaily
