KUCHING, Oct 16: The Jalan Tun Razak intersection rectifying works is expected to be done by the end of this month.

According to Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng, the rectifying works at the intersection started about two weeks ago, involving MBKS, the Public Works Department (JKR) and the contractors.

“The first night the rectifying works started, it caused some traffic jams. But the whole scenario changed on the second day due to weather disturbance. The contractors are working hard to complete this.

“I hope that by the end of this month, all works at Jalan Tun Razak will be done, and the public can enjoy a smooth road,” said Wee when met by reporters during his visit to the Jalan Tun Razak intersection construction site, today.

At the same time, Wee also hoped that the construction work would not be used by certain individuals to create unnecessary sentiment for publicity.

He said everyone will make a slight mistake here and there, which is unavoidable, but the most important thing is how to rectify it.

“For those who like to point things out, I hope that it will come to an end. This is not the result of them highlighting this matter, but this is the result of how the council, JKR and the contractors work together hand-in-hand to make proper rectification works in a professional manner.

“At the end of the day, it is the rakyat that will benefit from this,” he added. — DayakDaily
