KUCHING, April 7: Former members of Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) are welcome to join Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP), says SUPP president Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian.

Dr Sim said members of the now-dissolved party are now free to join any political party they choose.

“Of course, SUPP would welcome former PSB members because many of them were previously SUPP members. We were comrades before,” he said.

He was commenting on the dissolution of PSB when reporters asked about it after officiating a charity food fair at the Association of Churches Sarawak at Jalan Stampin today.

He further said that with PSB dissolved, former members are not obliged to join just one political party as they are also welcome to join other parties such as Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersaru (PBB), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), and SUPP.

“But I am sure some will choose to join the Democratic Action Party (DAP), and others might join Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) too,” he added.

Meanwhile, Dr Sim said that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will be having a meeting to discuss the matter. However, he also said that it is not an urgent matter to convene for.

On April 6, PSB announced that the party had dissolved, with more than 80,000 members having been accepted en bloc into the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP). — DayakDaily
