SIBU, Jan 26: Water supply to almost the whole of Sibu town will only be back to normal after 5pm today.

Sibu Water Board general manager Abdul Malik Abdullah in a statement said this is because major trunk main repair work can only be completed by 5pm today due to unforeseen technical issues encountered at the site.

“During the above mentioned period, there will be no water supplied from the SWB water treatment plant to Sibu Town Area, Teku-Pasai Area and Bawang Assan Area,” he said.

He said the board will strive to complete the repairs as soon as possible.

“Any inconvenience caused to the customer is very much regretted. If you have any query, please contact Sibu Water Board hotline at 084-216311,” said Abdul Malik.

The water supply disruption started at 8pm last night to allow the board to do repairs in front of the Foochow Sibu Association Building in Jalan Salim.
