The contractor has committed to completing the earth wall construction today.

The department apologised for any inconvenience experienced by consumers and gave assurance that the delivery of water using tanker trucks is being actively conducted to affected areas, especially public premises.

On Monday (July 15), JBALB reported a technical problem at the Bayong Water Treatment Plant as repair works were underway to restore clean and treated water supply to the affect areas in Sarikei.

The affected areas include along Jalan Bayong, Jalan Utama from Jakar junction to Sebangkoi, Selalang junction to Rh Moses, Sare, Jalan Meruton Merudu to Jalan Hock Ming until Baji junction, Meradong, Scheme B, along Jalan Pasi/Selidap, KJD, Jalan Bulat from Sg Rusa to Sg Joh, Kimsan Sg Rusa, Kesa Baron, Jalan On Dian, Jalan Sg Garan, Jalan Friendship, Jalan Cola, around Pakan areas.

The department warned that the entire Sarikei was expected to experience low water pressure throughout the repair period, which would take quite some time, including Sarikei town, along Jalan Repok, Jalan Nyelong Bypass, Kampung Seberang Sarikei, Susur Jambu, and area near Bukit Huang Parit Tengah.
