SIBU, Jan 25: Almost half of the town including some rural areas will experience a scheduled water disruption starting at 8pm tonight for 12 hours.
General Manager of Sibu Water Board Abdul Malik Abdullah @ Itin Langit in a statement today said this was due to the repair works that are currently being carried out in front of the Foochow Sibu Association Building in Jalan Salim.
“This is due to a 750mm light steel pipe breaking today, and our contractor is scheduled to carry out the repair works from 8pm until it is completed, which we estimate will take about 12 hours,” he said.
According to him, during the specified period, water will not be supplied from the the Water Treatment Plant for Durin, Sibu, Teku-Pasai and Bawang Assan areas.
“LAS will endeavor to complete the work as soon as possible.
