Wan Junaidi: I’ll prioritise Sarawak, Sabah rights as Minister in charge of Parliament and Law

Dato Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar

KUCHING, Aug 27: Dato Sri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar will make it his priority to preserve the rights of Sarawakians and Sabahans based on the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) as the new Minister in Prime Minister’s Department in charge of Parliament and Law.

Entrusted with this new responsibility, he said it is an opportunity for him to bring about reforms in Parliament and the government’s legal structure to suit today’s political landscape.

Glad to also see many familiar faces from the previous Cabinet, he said the new portfolio is an indication that the premier wants to see continuity in efforts that are already in place, namely in the fight against Covid-19, economic recovery and the people’s wellbeing.

“Nevertheless, be it old or new, it is clear that those handpicked to spearhead the ministries certainly have no time to spare, as we have been given 100 days to produce results upon assuming our duties.

“The premier is indeed serious when he says that this new Cabinet line-up serves as his management team to work with the people,” said Wan Junaidi in a statement today.

Meanwhile, the Santubong MP took the chance to thank Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob for including him in the new Cabinet again.
