KUCHING, June 5: Former Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Parliament) Dato Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar has been conferred the prestigious “Tan Sri” title in conjunction with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s Birthday celebration today.
The ‘Tan Sri’ is the second-highest federal title bestowed under the Darjah Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM).
The 78-year-old was among 839 recipients who received various titles.
Wan Junaidi served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Santubong constituency from 2004 until 2022, after representing the Batang Lupar federal constituency from 1990 to 2004.
Receiving the same award that carries the title “Tan Sri” were the late Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, veteran Democratic Action Party (DAP) politician Lim Kit Siang, Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Johari Abdul, former foreign affairs minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman and 21 others. — DayakDaily
