KOTA SAMARAHAN, Feb 28: The first virtual reality theme park in the country will be built in Kota Samarahan courtesy of Serba Dinamik Group Bhd, as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives project.

Serba Dinamik Group, a prominent business group in Sarawak which also happens to be among the biggest participants in the oil and gas industry in Malaysia, is providing the RM10 million project for free and also on voluntary basis.

Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) chairman Datuk Peter Minos said the council was pleased that Serba Dinamik Group had chosen Kota Samarahan to place its first virtual reality theme park called D’Virtual Park.

He assured that the council would do what is necessary to support and also assist in the cleanliness and up-keeping of the park.

“The virtual reality park will have everything of the computer world in entertainment, especially for the youth, not just in Samarahan but in the whole of Sarawak.

“The park is in line with Sarawak’s idea of promoting and propagating the digital world and it will also become a center of thrilling attraction to tourists, visitors and even budding young entrepreneurs,” he said in a press statement today.

Peter also noted that the council was extremely proud that such a big project was materialised in Kota Samarahan which would benefit the surrounding communities.

“We must make our world a better place to live in, and it fits with MPKS’ motto of ‘Clean, Green and Safe’,” he added.

Much of the work for the Virtual Reality Park has been done and the park is expected to be ready by April this year. Project expenses were also fully covered by Serba Dinamik Group.—DayakDaily.
