KUCHING, Nov 7: Voters will receive a 30 per cent discount at two SugarBun fast food restaurants when they present their indelible-ink-marked finger to the staff on polling day.
Polling day for the 15th General Election (GE15) has been set for Nov 19, 2022.
Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) chairman and P196 Stampin candidate Chong Chieng Jen highlighted that the discount programme at the SugarBun 4th Mile and the Sugarbun Aeon Mall outlets is intended to encourage more people to exercise their voting rights on Nov 19.
āWe are very pleased that the owner of these SugarBun outlets has agreed to launch a programme to encourage voters to vote.
āVoters can come to SugarBun and receive a 30 per cent discount on their bill while stocks last,ā Chong told reporters today during the DAPās GE15 Daily Press Conference at Sugarbun 4th Mile.
He continued by expressing gratitude to SugarBun 4th Mile and SugarBun Aeon Mall owner Bernard Chin and hoped that more business owners would adopt a similar initiative to encourage more people to vote.
Meanwhile, Chin stated, āI hope that by providing such a discount, it will encourage more voters, particularly those under the age of 21, to come and vote.
āAt the same time, I also hope other business owners will do the same. They could probably offer beverages at a price of RM1 for voters.ā
Also present was the DAP candidate for P195 Bandar Kuching, Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen. ā DayakDaily
