MUKAH, Nov 25: A male student of a skills training institute here has been arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine at Jalan Kampung Petanak here, yesterday.
Mukah District Police Chief, DSP Jimmy Panyau said the 16-year-old student was arrested by a police team from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division of the Mukah IPD while sitting on a motorcycle parked by the roadside at the location around 8.15am.
He said as a result of the inspection, the police seized a transparent plastic bag containing two small packets each containing crystal lumps suspected to be 1.51 grams of methamphetamine.
“The suspect was arrested and taken to the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division Office of the Mukah District Police Headquarters for further investigation,” he added.
Jimmy said the results of the urine test on the suspect came back positive for the drug.
According to him, the suspect will be investigated under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 15 (1) (a) of the same act.
“The suspect has been remanded for four days from 25 to 29 Nov for further investigation,” he added. – Dayakdaily
