KUCHING, Jan 11: The first Vistage Emerging Entrepreneur (VEE) Group in Sarawak will be officially launched during an actual group meeting scheduled at the end of March this year.
Vistage Chair Stanley Liew said the Group would consist of chief executive officers (CEOs) and business owners who will meet monthly to discuss business issues, share expertise, and provide one another with confidential help to achieve their goals.
“We are in the process of recruiting members by invitation. Not everybody applies would be approved.
“This is because we have to see whether Vistage is suitable for potential members or whether potential members will find Vistage useful or suitable for them. If there is a mutual fit, then we will engage with each other,” he said at a press conference held at a local hotel in Kuching today.
Liew further said members can improve themselves through the VEE group to become better leaders, make better decisions, and achieve better results in their businesses.
He said the most effective VEE group should have 8 to 16 members.
“This group will meet once a month for a full day to discuss any issues, challenges, and opportunities that may arise in the group.
“We will accept people from the manufacturing, trading or services industries. However, if I have someone from the courier service industry, I will not have another person from a similar industry.
“We only restrict to one because, in the group meeting, everything is kept private and confidential and will not be discussed outside (the meeting). That’s the culture, policy, and values of Vistage,” he said.
Vistage Malaysia & Singapore (VMS), founded by Richard CM Wong in 1994, is part of a worldwide community of more than 25,000 members in 25 countries.
As of November 2021, VMS has more than 980 members with combined annual revenue of over USD17 billion (RM70 billion), employing more than 120,000 persons.
