KUCHING, Feb 16: A three-minute CCTV clip allegedly showing a domestic violence incident in Kampung Muhibah here has gone viral on social media, with a medical report confirming that the victim suffered a fractured rib.
The footage, reportedly uploaded by a woman claiming to be related to the victim, shows a man physically assaulting a woman inside a residence.
The video has been widely circulated online, accompanied by calls for authorities to take immediate action.
A separate Facebook post also shared what is believed to be a police report lodged over the incident, which allegedly occurred at a house in Kampung Muhibah, Kuching, on Feb 14 at about 11am.
In the report, the victim stated that she was slapped and kicked on her left ribs and right thigh after her husband became angry when she did not respond to him calling her.
“I lodged this report for further police action and for my personal safety,” she said in the report.
A medical report dated Feb 15 confirmed that the victim sustained a fractured rib as a result of the assault.
The uploader further alleged that the suspect, believed to be the victim’s husband, had taken drugs prior to the incident and is currently at large.
Social media users have since tagged the Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) and the Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah (IPD) Kuching, urging swift investigation and action to ensure the victim’s safety.
As of press time, police have yet to issue an official statement on the matter. — DayakDaily
