KUCHING, Mar 26: Villages along Jalan Borneo Heights are actively playing their part to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

In doing so, the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) have put up banners prohibiting the villagers from going out, and disallowing outsiders from entering their village.

During DayakDaily’s survey of the villages under Mambong constituency and Padawan sub-district office, it was found out that all the villages had put up such banners.

Among the villages along Jalan Borneo Heights are Kpg Mambong, Kpg Bratan, Kpg Sikog, Kpg Bunuk, Kpg Emperoh Giam, Kpg Git, Kpg Grait, Kpg Bawang, Kpg Karu, Kpg, Semadang, Kpg Garung, four villages at Bengoh Resettlement Scheme and Kpg Annah Rais.

Meanwhile, Assistant Minister of Transport, Datuk Dr Jerip Susil commended the effort of all the village chiefs and JKKK for putting up such banners.

In his recorded message, Dr Jerip, who is Mambong assemblyman, advised the people in the area to comply with the Movement Control Order (MCO) announced by both the Federal and State government.

“To the people in Mambong constituency, please comply with MCO and stay at home. If you need to go out, wear masks due to Covid 19.”

“Please also look after your personal hygiene and that of your family members,” Dr Jerip advised.

He said even though there was no reported cases in Mambong area, the people must never be complacent.

“We must take this Covid 19 very seriously and never be complacent, before it harm us and our family, Dr Jerip asserted. —DayakDaily
