KUCHING, Feb 23: Swab testing for Covid-19 will be held at Kg Emperoh Jambu in Padawan tomorrow.

The testing is held following the detection of 42 Covid-19 cases stemming from funeral service at the village from Feb 3 until 5.

Ministry of Housing and Local Government health officer Billy Sujang said the swab testing is for those who attended the funeral at the village but have yet to be tested for Covid-19.

“For this swab test, I appeal to those who have attended the funeral service (at Kg Emperoh Jambu) to come forward because we want to break this new cluster,” Billy said today when visiting the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) post set up at the village together with Assistant Minister of Transport Datuk Dr Jerip Susil.

Billy advised those who attended the funeral to take swab tests at any health clinic.

He also said the people must keep their house compound clean and spray it with bleach (clorox), while at the same time adhere with the standard operating procedure (SOP) laid out by the state government.

“We ought to comply with the SOP because it is the ultimate goal of the state government to break this Covid-19 chain,” he said. — DayakDaily
