“His relatives together with the Health Ministry nurses brought him back to arrange for burial this afternoon,” said Ng,

Ng said Cheng who was once the Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) secretary was his comrade who shared the same political struggles and vision in the 80’s and 90’s.

“We were in DAP together during the time of late former DAP MP Sim Kwang Yang. Later all of us, including Kwang Yang, Cheng and I left to join Sarawak PKR.

“He (Cheng) was an old-timer politician and was for most of his life, active in politics.

“He had regretfully made mistakes in the later part of his life, but those who had been his friends and comrades knew him as a man of generosity and kindness.

“He will be missed by many of his former comrades and friends,” said Ng who is a former Padungan assemblyman. — DayakDaily
