KUCHING, June 11: The Volunteer Community Engagement and Empowerment for Covid-19 Malaysia (VCEE19) is the first Sarawakian voluntary organisation to extend their assistance to the Ministry of Health (MoH), especially in Covid-19 vaccination centres (PPV) here.
Its chairman, Dzulkarnain Haron, when met at the Timberland Medical Centre PPV on Wednesday, said that their main task is to ensure that a programme, such as the movement of the vaccine recipients, will run smoothly.
“In fact, VCEE19 started to provide their assistance since the Movement Control Order (MCO) was implemented in Kampung Bintawa, helping MoH in the registration process and the movement of the vaccine recipients.
“Following that, since April, we have been serving at the Stadium Perpaduan PPV, and now we are assisting the Timberland Medical Centre in the vaccination programme,” he said.
Dzulkarnain noted, they are now helping the vaccination process in Timberland Medical Centre since May 25.
He said the number of volunteers deployed depends on the size of the PPV, including the number of the vaccine recipients.
“From VCEE19, five volunteers have been sent to assist Timberland Medical Centre in managing vaccination-related matters,” he said. — DayakDaily
