Various agencies take part in inaugural Enviro-Hunt to raise eco-awareness

MIRI, Nov 18: The “Enviro-Hunt” programme by Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (Miri) and Department of Environment (DOE) Miri saw 40 participants from various government agencies making their way through the Piasau Nature Reserve (PNR) trails looking for clues and hints planted by the organisers early this morning.

The inaugural programme was held in conjunction with Petronas Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) month for 2018.

“The programme is an effort to raise public awareness on environmental conservation,” said Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd Sarawak Oil Asset (SK-Oil) senior general manager Anuar Ismail.

Amongst agencies that took part were Miri City Council (MCC); Department of Environment Miri; Natural Resources and Environment Board Sarawak, Miri branch; Marine Department Miri; Miri Fire and Rescue Department; Miri police; Royal Malaysian Customs Department (Miri); and Miri District Office.

Anuar said, SK-Oil will continue to contribute towards environmental sustainability in Miri under corporate social responsibility programmes.

Also present was Sarawak Department of Environment assistant director (development), Zaihan Lek.
