MIRI, August 30: A driver of a van who apparently refused to pay for parking at Miri Airport rammed the parking barrier before fleeing the scene on Wednesday.
The alleged incident reportedly happened around 3.15pm (Aug 29).
A police report on the incident was subsequently lodged at Tanjong Lobang police station.
The incident was caught by a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera in the area.
According to sources, the vehicle was spotted exiting the parking area before speeding and ramming the barrier.
No one was reported injured in the incident.
It was not immediately known how much the parking ticket cost which had apparently triggered the driver to react in such a manner.
As at press time, no arrest has been made as police are still investigating the incident. — DayakDaily
