KUCHING, August 30: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Stampin branch is hopeful that they can bring in small community projects for villages in Batu Kitang.

Speaking at a community dialogue session with residents of Kitang Jaya yesterday, its Youth Chief Jeffrey Mok, encouraged the villagers to participate in any future community projects.

“I believe this is one of the best ways to promote a people-friendly government. As a new government, Pakatan Harapan works on people-centric policies so that everyone will have a sense of belonging to the community and be part of the bigger agenda of nation-building,” Mok, who is also a lawyer by profession, said in a statement today.

PKR national women vice-chief Voon Shiak Ni also said that she will make efforts to lobby for small community projects from the Ministry of Housing and Local Government to improve community facilities for the people.

Voon is also the special officer to the ministry’s minister, Zuraida Kamaruddin.

“I am committed to do my part via this platform in the ministry to bring in more benefits to the people. Rest assured, I will continue to conduct more community dialogues and engagement with the people,” she said.

During the dialogue session, PKR also received new membership applications. — DayakDaily
