Upgrading works for Tondong RPR to be completed in three months

KUCHING, Sept 13: The project to upgrade Tondong RPR in Batu Kawa which started on Sept 5, is expected to be completed within three months.

Deputy Premier of Sarawak and Batu Kawah assemblyman Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian witnessed the handover of the letter of agreement from the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) to the contractor in a ceremony yesterday (Sept 12).

According to a news report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), HDC chief executive officer Mohamad Asman Ahmad handed over the letter of agreement to project director of Sebarik Bina Contractor Company, Goh Kwang Yaw, at Taman Sri Cahaya RPR Tondong in Batu Kawah.


Dr Sim, also the Minister of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government, then surveyed the structural condition of the building block and the surrounding area.

According to Mohamad Asman, the project will replace the gutters, lattice boards, and related works on 11 blocks, including upgrading the roofs of all the five-storey blocks involving 660 units of flats.

He explained that the Ministry of Housing and Local Government had channeled an allocation worth RM432,305 for the works in question. — DayakDaily
