KUCHING, March 17: Upgrading works for four dilapidated rural schools — SK Bandar Limbang, SMK Bandar Limbang, SK Tiga Kampung, and SMK Seri Patiambun — in Bukit Kota, Limbang are 60 per cent completed.

According to a media release, Regional Corridor Development Authority (Recoda) said that works to repair, renovate, and improve these four dilapidated rural schools are ongoing.

“This is a major step forward in providing the students with the safe and comfortable learning environment they deserve. These schools have needed repairs for a long time,” Recoda added.

The projects under the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA) involved the construction of a new science and administrative building, hostel blocks and new toilets, and making the school grounds safer for everyone.

Noting that education is important for the future of Sarawak’s diverse community, Recoda said the upgrading works is a step towards ensuring that every student has access to quality education in a safe and comfortable environment. — DayakDaily
