“Thank you to (Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department) Dr Zaliha Mustafa for keeping her promise and allocating RM300,000 after visiting this dilapidated (Batu Kawah Mother and Child Health) clinic during Malaysia Day last year,” read Dr Sim’s statement.

Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced that Sarawak is the first State government to offer help to the Federal government by initially paying for the upgrades of Malaysian Ministry of Health (MOH) hospitals and dilapidated clinics in Sarawak.

The money will be reimbursed to the Sarawak government after.

Dr Sim, who is also Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government, mentioned that Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg followed through with the Sarawak government by putting aside RM100 million for MOH hospitals and dilapidated clinics in the region for this year.

“PM Anwar reciprocated with RM50 million. A small gesture, but a good start,” said Dr Sim. — DayakDaily
