KUCHING, Dec 7: Thousands of participants and spectators packed the streets last night as the Methodist Church SCAC led the Kuching City Christmas Parade, transforming the city centre into a vibrant display of faith and celebration.
Organised with the Association of Churches in Sarawak (ACS), the parade drew more than 7,000 participants from 72 churches.
Illuminated floats depicting the Nativity and other biblical scenes led the colourful procession, accompanied by choirs, youth groups and church contingents from various denominations, including the Roman Catholic, Anglican, Methodist (Sarawak Chinese Annual Conference and Sarawak Iban Annual Conference), Borneo Evangelical Mission (SIB), Seventh-day Adventist, Salvation Army, Sarawak Baptist, Sarawak Blessed and Sarawak Evangelical Christian Association (SECA) member churches.
The 4km procession swept through Jalan Padungan, the Kuching Waterfront, Lebuh Temple, Lebuh Wayang, Jalan Tabuan and Jalan Ban Hock before returning to Jubilee Ground.

Huge crowds lined the route, stopping to cheer and capture the festive floats and performances.
