Unifor provides RM50,000 to Chinese temple in Spaoh

SPAOH, Sept 13: The state government through the Chief Minister Department’s Unit of Other Religions (Unifor) has provided a grant of RM50,000 to the Chinese temple in Spaoh.

The grant was given for the Chinese temple to conduct repair and restoration works.

It was presented by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, who is also the Minister in charge of Unifor, to Spaoh Chinese community leader Penghulu Goh Leng Tong during a simple ceremony here yesterday.


At an event, Uggah who is also Bukit Saban assemblyman also presented cash assistance to a group of nine students from needy families from his area going for their tertiary education.

Uggah’s aide Dr Richard Rapu who is also the Chief Minister’s political secretary said such financial assistance has been given out to students continuously in the past to help them to further their education. —DayakDaily
