KUCHING, May 20: The Sarawak Government has approved an allocation of RM120 million for Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) for 2026, with RM90 million for worship houses of other religions and RM30 million for mission schools under the Special Development Assistance Fund.
Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said in 2025, Unifor fully utilised its allocated budget of
RM110 million, benefiting 380 houses of worship and supporting 155 projects across 126 mission schools.
“Building upon these achievements, Unifor remains committed to further strengthening its support for houses of worship and mission schools, enhancing service delivery, and expanding its positive impact on the communities it serves,” said Uggah when delivering his ministerial winding up speech at Sarawak Legislative Assembly here today.
Uggah who is also Deputy Premier as well as Bukit Saban assemblyman (GPS-PBB) said the recent launch of the new RM75 million Unifor Building Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg on April 26, 2026 reflects the Sarawak Government’s strong commitment towards inclusive development and the well- being of the people. —DayakDaily
