Unifor disburses RM1 mln in grants to religious bodies

KUCHING, Nov 11: The Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) has disbursed more than RM1 million to nine houses of worship and religious bodies today.

Minister In Charge of Unifor Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas handed over the grants to Local Government and Housing Minister Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian at the former’s office at Wisma Bapa today.

The nine houses of worship and religious associations include five in Kuching city, three in Sibu and one in Miri.


The five houses of worship or religious bodies in Kuching were Persatuan Agam Buddha Guan Yi Gong, Kuching, Persatuan Teochew Kuching, Kuil Sri Srinivasagar Kuching, Tokong Sungai Apong Shieng Seng Temple Kuching, Sarawak Blessed Church.

Meanwhile, the three benefiting from today’s allocation in Sibu were Zion Methodist Church Sibu, Bahai Charitable Trust and En Tao Methodist Church Sibu, while the one in Miri was Pertubuhan Ugama Buddha Miri. — DayakDaily
