KUCHING, Dec 6: Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) has presented RM1 million to support the building fund of St Ann Church at Jalan Kota Padawan.
Batu Kitang assemblyman Dato Lo Khere Chiang presented the mock cheque to Father Don Don Ramerez witnessed by Archbishop of Kuching Archdiocese Simon Poh today.
In expressing gratitude to Unifor, Lo emphasised that the significance of the contribution in enabling St Ann Church to continue its mission of providing an inclusive and welcoming space for all members in the community.
“This shows Unifor’s commitment in promoting interfaith harmony and understanding in Sarawak.
“This contribution is a testament of the power of collaboration and the positive impact that can be achieved when we work together towards a common goal,” he said in a statement today.
He added that he looked forward to fostering ongoing partnerships across all sectors and collective efforts in building a better Sarawak for everyone. — DayakDaily
