UNIFOR allocates RM400,000 for new BEM church in Long Panai

KUCHING, June 29: The Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) has channelled an allocation of RM400,000 for the new BEM Long Panai Church.

In a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) report, the funds were presented by Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration, and Project Monitoring), Datuk Gerawat Gala, during the Kampung Long Panai Family Day celebration in Miri on Saturday (June 28).

Gerawat, who is also the assemblyman for Mulu, said this reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring the needs and religious affairs of the people, especially in rural areas, continue to receive attention.

“This contribution is part of the State government’s ongoing efforts to ensure the spiritual needs and facilities of rural communities continue to be prioritised,” he said in his speech at the event.

He also emphasised the importance of fostering strong bonds within the community, regardless of age or background, while calling for the spirit of unity and togetherness to be strengthened for the betterment of the village.

Meanwhile, various activities were lined up for the Kampung Long Panai Family Day celebration, such as games, cultural performances, and a community feast. — DayakDaily
