Unidentified body of man found in Tanjung Bako pier

Police personnel are seen inspecting the remains that were recovered by firefighters from the waters near the LKIM pier in Tanjung Bako, following findings reported by the local fisherman.

KUCHING, Feb 18: An unidentified body of a man was found floating near the Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority (LKIM) pier in Tanjung Bako, today.

According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre in a press statement today, they received a call from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) at 11.50 am, requesting assistance to recover the body from the water.

“Firefighters arrived at the location and confirmed the finding of a body of a partially clothed man, found by a local fisherman near the LKIM pier.


“Firefighters then proceeded to recover the remains and it was brought to and. However, the identity of the body could not be ascertained,” it said.

The statement noted the remains were later handed over to the police for further action.

A total of seven firefighters from Kota Samarahan fire station led by PBK II Nurzainuldin were deployed to the location, and the operation was joined by five PDRM personnel. –DayakDaily.
