KUCHING, Feb 27: The Sessions Court here sentenced an unemployed man to nine years jail and three strokes of the rotan for sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl.
Asdi Bojeng, pleaded guilty to the charge framed here today.
He was caught touching the 7-year-old girl’s genitalia at a house in Kampung Bintawa Tengah, on Sept 24, 2018, around 12pm to 2pm.
Sessions Court Judge Jason Juga accepted his plea of guilty and sentenced him to an imprisonment of nine years and three strokes of the rotan.
He was charged under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 and punishable under Section 14 of the same Act, which carries a maximum term of 20 years imprisonment and whipping, upon conviction.
