MIRI, Nov 28: A total of 33 items, believed to be stolen, were recovered by police following the arrest of a 38-year-old unemployed man.
The items were discovered during a raid at 11am on Tuesday (Nov 27) at a homestay premises at Centre Point 1, Commercial Centre, Jalan Kubu here, after police acted on public tip-off.
Miri City police chief, ACP Lim Meng Seah confirmed the arrest and disclosed that most of the recovered items were electronics and computer accessories while seven were branded wristwatches.
However, he did not revealed the total worth of the seizure.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect has previous records for narcotic offences and theft.
He is currently being detained under police custody to facilitate their probe into the case.
The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft. — DayakDaily
