KUCHING, Feb 20: Delegates from UK’s Parliament commended Sarawak’s uniqueness and hopes to collaborate with Sarawak in various fields, particularly in renewable energy, such as green energy and hydrogen.
According to a report by Sarawak’s Information Department (Jabatan Penerangan Sarawak), a delegation of the UK Parliament paid a courtesy visit to Sarawak Governor (TYT) Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi at the Astana Negeri today.
The team of delegates were led by the speaker of the House of Commons, Parliament of UK, Sir Lindsay Hoyle.
Following the visit, Hoyle stated that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss efforts to strengthen legislative relations and the long-standing friendship between Malaysia and the UK.
“Malaysia and the UK share a close diplomatic history and practice parliamentary democracy.
“We also hope to collaborate with Sarawak in various fields, particularly in renewable energy, such as green energy and hydrogen,” said Hoyle, who also praised the beauty and uniqueness of Sarawak.
The delegation was accompanied by Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sarawak Regional Office director Fenny Nuli. – DayakDaily
