Uggah satisfied with schools’ SOP compliance

KUCHING, June 29: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas is satisfied with the standard operating procedures (SOP) compliance from SMK St. Thomas and SMK Jalan Arang, following resumption of its form five and six classes.

Uggah, who is also the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC)) chairman, visited the two secondary schools to witness on how the students were complying with the SOP.

During the visit at SMK Jalan Arang, Uggah, who was accompanied by Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian and Padawan Municipal Council chairman Lo Khere Chiang, was welcomed by the deputy director general of the Education Ministry (School Operation Sector) Adzman Talib and the school principal Lau Yok Hock.

While the Bishop of Kuching, Reverend Datuk Danald Jute, together with Kuching City South Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng and the principal Robin Sabai, were among those who received them at SMK St. Thomas.

After the visit, Uggah noted that he was pleased with the high rate of compliance by the administration of the two schools, and later proceeded to visit the Petanak market to check on the effectiveness of the CovidTrace app usage at the market entrance. –DayakDaily.
